The bubble is not showing
- Check that your full snippet is installed and the data-key is your account's public key.
- Republish the site and purge site, plugin and CDN caches.
- Try a private browser window with ad blockers and privacy extensions turned off.
- Ask Fix8 to confirm your exact domain is in Allowed domains. A disallowed domain can prevent messages even when the bubble appears.
- If the assistant is not active or the code request fails, contact support with the published page URL.
The chat hides on phones
Check Hide on mobile in your widget settings. That option hides the floating widget below 640 pixels wide, not inline chat. A proactive greeting has its own mobile setting.
The bubble overlaps another widget
Use left or right placement and the side and bottom offsets in your widget settings to move it away from an accessibility control or cookie banner. Save, then reload the site.
Call or Book is not working
Call needs an enabled Call action and a saved phone number. It opens the device's phone handler, so a desktop may need a calling app.
Book opens your business's booking link or activates its existing booking button or popup. The assistant does not book appointments itself. Check the saved URL or page selector. If the page button changed, update the selector; a saved booking URL can be used as a fallback.
Inline chat is not appearing
Confirm the container exists and data-target matches its id. Use the exact inline snippet below. If the builder uses a sandboxed frame, put the container and script together in one HTML element and give it enough height.
Some editors hide scripts until the site is published or viewed while logged out.
<div id="fix8-chat"></div>
<script src="https://chat.fix8media.com/api/public/widget.js" data-key="YOUR_PUBLIC_KEY" data-mode="inline" data-target="#fix8-chat" async></script>Your message allowance is used up
At the monthly message cap, the assistant stops answering and asks visitors to contact the business directly. Check your allowance in the client console. Normal answering resumes when the monthly count resets or your allowance is increased.
Check the browser console
- Open the published page, right-click and choose Inspect, then open Console. In Safari, you may need to enable developer tools first.
- Reload the page and look for errors mentioning widget.js, a blocked script, Content Security Policy, or a failed network request.
- In Network, check requests to chat.fix8media.com. Note the status code and the page URL.
- Send those details to support. Do not send passwords, access tokens or private customer transcripts.
