Before you start
You need an active Fix8 AI Chat account and your account's public embed key.
On self-hosted WordPress, use an Administrator account. For WordPress.com, plugins work on paid plans, but hosting features must be activated for JavaScript to run.
Install the floating chat
- Install and activate the free WPCode plugin.
- Open Code Snippets > Header & Footer.
- Paste your floating snippet into the Footer box, then select Save Changes.
- Open your published site in a private browser window and check the chat.
Add the inline chat to one page
- Edit your contact page and add a Custom HTML block. You can type /html to find it.
- Paste the full inline snippet, including the container and script, then update the page.
Copy your code
Your working snippet comes from your dashboard: Settings > Embed. Some console views show Embed on the dashboard overview. Choose Floating button or Inline on a page and copy the complete code.
These are placeholder examples. Replace YOUR_PUBLIC_KEY with your account's public key, or copy your actual snippet from the dashboard. Keep the existing container id and data-target together.

<script src="https://chat.fix8media.com/api/public/widget.js" data-key="YOUR_PUBLIC_KEY" data-mode="inline" data-target="#fix8-chat" async></script>Common problems
WordPress strips script tags for roles without permission. Ask an Administrator to install the code.
If WP Rocket or another plugin delays or combines JavaScript, exclude https://chat.fix8media.com/api/public/widget.js. Purge the plugin cache and any host or Cloudflare cache.
As alternatives, look for the footer template under Appearance > Editor in a block theme, or ask a developer to use a child theme footer.php. Labels vary by theme and version.
