Before you start
You need an active Fix8 AI Chat account and your account's public embed key.
You need permission to edit your site's HTML or shared layout. Ask your developer if your site has a Content Security Policy.
Install the floating chat
- Copy your floating snippet from your dashboard.
- Paste it just before </body> on every page, or once in the shared layout or template.
- Deploy your changes and clear any site or CDN cache.
- Check the published domain and send a short test message.
Add the inline chat to one page
- Place the full inline snippet where you want the chat to appear.
- Keep the div and its script together. The script's data-target must match the container id.
- If you also need a floating bubble, ask support about adding data-floating="show" to a separate floating snippet.
Copy your code
Your working snippet comes from your dashboard: Settings > Embed. Some console views show Embed on the dashboard overview. Choose Floating button or Inline on a page and copy the complete code.
These are placeholder examples. Replace YOUR_PUBLIC_KEY with your account's public key, or copy your actual snippet from the dashboard. Keep the existing container id and data-target together.
<script src="https://chat.fix8media.com/api/public/widget.js" data-key="YOUR_PUBLIC_KEY" async></script>Inline code example
<div id="fix8-chat"></div>
<script src="https://chat.fix8media.com/api/public/widget.js" data-key="YOUR_PUBLIC_KEY" data-mode="inline" data-target="#fix8-chat" async></script>Common problems
Allow https://chat.fix8media.com in script-src and connect-src. The widget loads /api/public/widget.js, /api/public/widget-config and /api/public/chat from that host.
The widget adds a style element and inline style attributes inside a shadow root. A strict style-src must permit those styles using your site's CSP approach. Adding a host alone does not permit inline styles. Ask your developer before relaxing a policy.
No frame-src host is needed by the widget itself because it creates no iframe. For img-src, allow the exact host of your configured logo URL if you use a logo. There is no fixed logo host or external stylesheet or font host to add.
